Response to Robin Williams

I really liked the way this poster incorporated a theme in the movie into the aesthetics. The sliced up hands with space in between refers to the character’s scissorhands and the heart is sliced because a major theme in the film is love and the breaking of hearts. Since these severed objects in the poster are close in proximity, we perceive them as one visual unit rather than as separate ones. And though the hear and hands are separate from each other, their close proximity indicates that there is a relationship between love/hearts and the scissorhand character.
